Today the kids were allowed to sleep in! Some took advantage and slept right through breakfast. We had a quiet morning of resting, rehearsal and group meetings. Right now we're back at the university getting ready for our joint concert with three different choirs to celebrate Nelson Mandela Day. We've seen these university chorus students a number of times now and the two choruses greet each other with hugs and familiarity; the shyness all but evaporated. My personal favorite is watching the kids gather around the grand piano to spontaneously sing pop songs - obviously delighting in each other's company. Another thrill that I can't seem to get over is seeing posters plastered all around with the BCS chorus picture announcing our concerts in the various areas. How cool is that?
Tomorrow it'll be hit-or-miss again with internet access but for now, enjoy a few more photos.

The videos look great! Good job on the drum Daniel! Is that a DJembe drum you are beating? Everybody looks very happy in all the pictures. How has the weather been over there?
ReplyDeleteOn the US side of things, our president celebrated his 50th birthday on Thursday, August 4th. I had a special invitation to celebrate with him at the white house but I declined. It just wouldn't be fun without you guys being there. Hehehe! Well, maybe next year.
So, do you miss us (your parents) yet? The Springbok looks so regal! Pretty little thing. Reminds me of the The Invictus movie in which the name of the Rugby national team is called the Springboks if I'm not mistaken. Don't you guys remember the Invictus????? Anyway, when back to Boston, you should see it again and you will what I am talking about.
